Vigil stepped up at airport

NEDUMBASSERY: In view of the raging ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka and the related disturbances on the Tamil Nadu coast, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued a direction to airports across the country to keep a vigil over passenger movement to and from the island nation.

The BCAS direction reached the Cochin International Airport on Wednesday following which the airport convened an emergency security meeting. The meeting decided to step up surveillance of passengers, especially those arriving from Colombo.
