GKN Driveline plans new unit

MUMBAI: GKN Driveline, a leader in design and production of driveline components for the automotive industry, is to expand its presence by building a new factory at Oragadam, near Chennai to make sideshafts and a new test centre.

Speaking to The Hindu, Rajendra Ojha, Managing Director, GKN Driveline India, said " We are the single supplier of driveshafts to all car manufacturers in India except Maruti.

The company will invest Rs. 115 crore in the new plant that will go into production at the beginning of 2008 and will have a capacity of six lakh vehicle sets, said Mr. Rajendra Ojha.
