Britain offers help to Sri Lanka

LONDON: Britain is willing to talk to the LTTE representatives as part of its "determination'' to bring peace to Sri Lanka, but it has made clear that there can be no military solution. Speaking during a debate on Sri Lanka in the Commons, Foreign Office Minister Kim Howells shared the members' concern over the situation in Sri Lanka describing it as "dire''. He said U.K. was "determined'' to work with Colombo to push forward the peace process.
