MADURAI: The Puthiya Thamizhagam is planning a one-day bandh in southern districts, seeking to set right "confusion" over the draft delimitation proposal. It is likely to be observed on May 18 or 19, before the public hearing on the delimitation for the southern districts scheduled for May 20. The party began a relay hunger strike in Virudhunagar district on Thursday. It will be observed in all southern districts till May 12. Talking to reporters here on Thursday, party leader K. Krishnasamy said seven reserved Lok Sabha constituencies had been proposed for four northern districts. Many parties, including the Congress and the Left, had expressed dissatisfaction over the draft proposal. "We are inviting all like-minded parties to support the bandh." Dr. Krishnasamy said the proposal did not reflect the aspirations of the majority of voters.
