Urmila to meet Mrinalini

HYDERABAD: G. Urmila set up a title-clash with A. Mrinalini in the girls under-12 singles of the Kedia's All India Talent Series tennis tournament at SAAP Tennis Complex here.

The results (semifinals):

Girls: Under-12: G. Urmila bt Rutuja Bhosle (Pune) 6-3, 6-1; A. Mrinalini bt A. Sabatini 6-2, 6-3. Under-14: A. Mrinalini bt K. Shina Rao 6-1, 6-1; G. Urmila bt Manaswini 6-2, 6-0.

Boys: Under-12: Rishab Agarwal bt B. Supreet 7-6(5), 6-1; S.M. Abdullah bt Ronak Jhowar 6-4, 6-3. Under-14: Ronak Jhowar bt Tarun Nath 6-3, 6-2; S.M. Abdullah bt T.Nehal 7-6(8), 4-1 concd.

Doubles: S.K. Mukund & A.L. Anirudh bt Shiv Satvik & C. Skanda 7-6(1), 6-1.

Twinkle Star shines

Twinkle Star Cricket Club recorded an eight-wicket win over Bradman XI in the inaugural match of the eighth Boston Cup sub-junior cricket tournament at Sports Coaching Foundation Grounds (Masab Tank) here.

The scores: Under-12: Bradman XI 24 for four in six overs (Rahman three for 15) lost to Twinkle Star CC 25 for two.

SCF Yellows 40 for four (Mateen three for 12) bt Prashanthi CC 24 for six (Farad three for 10).

Bridge tournament

Fateh Maidan Club will organise bridge Master Pairs event on May 5 from 10 a.m. on its premises. Details can be had from K. Nageshwar Rao, secretary, on 9848081692.

Cricket tournament

Maytas Properties and Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) will organise the first-ever indoor corporate cricket tournament at HICC (Madhapur) here from May 5 to June 5, according to Mallik Penamatsa, senior vice-president of Maytas.

Six teams will be in the fray in the league-cum-knock-out tournament to be played at the huge indoor hall in the Convention Centre on synthetic turf.

Women's hockey team

Andhra Pradesh Women's Hockey Association has named the State team for the 20th Sub-junior National championship to be held in Bhopal from May 5 to 12.

The team: S. Jyoshna (capt), K. Mamatha (vice-capt), K. Sujatha, M. Rekha, M. Geetha, G. Varalakshmi, K. Poornima, G. Jhansi, V. Ashwini, K. Rajani, M. Ramya Latha, Appala Konda, M. Padmavathi, P. Saraswathi and B. Madhavi. Coach: Florence Ekka. Manager: P. Ram Praveen.
