BHUBANESWAR: Orissa Tourism Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and six others were injured in a road accident near Rairakhol on Thursday afternoon. The accident took place around 5 p.m. near Charbati village between Rairakhol and Sambalpur when Mr. Mishra's car was involved in a collision with an Ambassador that was coming from Sambalpur side. The other injured include Joint Director in the Tourism Department Biranchi Mishra, the Minister's Personal Security officer and the driver. Senior journalist Tribikram Tripathy, his son Bijay Tripathy and their driver who were travelling in the Ambassador car were also injured.
Shifted to Burla
The Tourism Minister, who was given treatment at the Rairakhol hospital immediately after the accident, was later shifted to the VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla.
The Minister was on his way to Bargarh town in western Orissa to attend the Bargarh Lok Mahotsav in the evening.
