TIRUPATI: Three persons were killed when they were struck by lightning on Thursday in the Rompicherla mandal of Chittoor district. While Varalakshmi (35) was killed on the spot when she was working in the field at K.N. Kuravapalle, Raghupathi (40) of Varanasipalle was struck dead while grazing his sheep. Fifteen sheep were also charred to death. The third victim was a 13-year-old class VIII student, Devendra of Motumallela village. He died on his way to the General Hospital, Tirupati.
