BELLARY: A district-level rally of Madiga community is being organised here on May 27. The rally, organised under the banner of the Madar Chennaiah Gurupeetha Hitarakahsna Samiti, is aimed at organising the community and creating awareness among them to unite to get facilities announced by the Government. As part of the rally, the organisers have planned to hold a mass marriage besides taking out procession. Basavamurthi swamiji of Sri Madar Chennaiah Gurupeet, Chitradurga, Manda Krishna Madiga, from Andhra Pradesh, who had launched the "Madiga Dandora" seeking internal reservation among the Scheduled Castes, will participate in the functions.
