SCF (Blues) enters final

HYDERABAD: Sports Coaching Foundation (Blues) scored a 16-run win against Noble Public School to enter the final of the under-12 category of the eighth Boston Cup sub-juniors cricket tournament at SCF Grounds (Masab Tank) here.

The scores: Under-12: SCF Blues 85 for three (Ali 34) bt Noble School 69 for five (Ali three for 24). Under-15: Geetanjali Devashala 58 for five bt HPS 33 (Praneeth three for 10).

Lalit to represent India

Promising chess player M.R. Lalit Babu of Vijayawada, who picked the juniors medal in the recent Phillipines International Open tournament, has been selected to represent India in the Asia under-18 championship in Uzbekistan in June and also the World Youth (under-18) championship in November.

Lalit has also been selected to represent the country in the Youth Exchange Programme in China in June next month.

Rapid chess tournament

Andhra Pradesh Chess Association will organise the second Arora Trophy one-day rapid chess tournament on May 6 at Arora College (Chikkadpally) here. Entries close by 9.00 am on May 6 and further details can be had on Phone No 9866519924.

Corporate cricket

The second State Bank of Hyderabad Corporate cricket tournament will be organised from June 9 at different venues in the twin cities. The event is restricted to only corporate teams and no HCA league players are permitted to take part. Bridge tournaments

Fateh Maidan Club will conduct master pairs bridge event on May 6 from 10.00 am on its premises. Further details can be had on Phone No.9848081692. Also, the Hyderabad Boat Club will organise its Platinum Jubilee Open bridge tournament on May 12 and 13. Competitions will be held in team of four duplicate, board-a-match and master pairs events.
