South Indian film magazine launched

NEW EFFORT: Actor Shriya releasing Galatta Cinema in Chennai on Thursday. Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetty receives the first copy.

MADURAI: Galatta.com, Madurai cine portal, has launched what it claims to be "one of the first south Indian film magazines of its class and kind," Galatta Cinema.

The film magazine in English promises to offer "a complete picture of the movie industry in the four southern States."

Hits stand

C. R. Venkatesh, Chief Executive Officer of Galatta.com, says that the magazine, which hit the stands on May 1, is meant for anyone who wants quality information on south Indian movie world.

The inaugural issue features a "scoop" on Rajnikanth's much-expected `Sivaji' and a "host of other exclusive information and features."

The launch

Actor Shriya launched the monthly in Chennai on April 26. The first copy was received by Nalli Kuppuswami Chetty.

Girish Ramdas, president, Galatta.com, who spoke at the launch function, promised to "deliver exclusive and best quality content in a way that will boost the entire movie industry."
