FMCG dealers' protest

KOCHI: The FMCG Dealers Association has protested against the Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi's decision to seize cigarettes being sold in the State as per the rules and regulations. Representatives of the association urged the Government to provide security to FMCG dealers involved in distribution of cigarettes. — Staff Reporter

Health volunteers

Kochi: Kudumbasree has invited applications for the post of health volunteers for the Santhwanam project. The basic educational qualification is plus two in science subjects\ VHSE\ paramedical or pre-degree. Women below the age of 35 years can apply. Applications should be submitted through CDS chairpersons of the civic body concerned before May 10. — Staff Reporter

BSNL staff protest

Kochi: The joint action council of the BSNL executive and non-executive organisations took out rallies before various BSNL offices against the proposal for sharing infrastructure facilities of the BSNL with private players. Trade union leaders addressed the employees at a march taken out before BSNL Bhavan. — Staff Reporter

Animation film fete

Kochi: An animation film festival-cum-seminar organised by Access Atlantech Technologies India and the Kerala Cartoon Academy began on Friday. Filmmaker Ranji Panicker inaugurated the programme. M.M. Monayee, MLA, chairman of the Kerala Cartoon Academy presided. — Staff Reporter
