Guwahati:
Seven persons were injured, two of them critically, in a car bomb explosion suspected to have been triggered by the United Liberation Front of Asom(ULFA) in upper Assam's Tinsukia town on Friday.
Police said that the blast occurred on the busy Chambers Road in Tinsukia when a bomb hidden in a Maruti gypsy vehicle went off around 7. 20 a.m.
The police arrested five persons in this connection with the blast.
Earlier on Thursday night three suspected ULFA militants were killed in an encounter with the Army in lower Assam's Nalbari district. The encounter took place at Barkhanajan, about 3 km of Nalbari town.
