Thiruvananthapuram: `Classmates,' directed by Lal Jose, was adjudged the best film and Mohanlal the best actor for the third Amrita film awards to be presented here on Saturday. Navya Nair was selected the best female actor. `Classmates' bagged six awards, including the ones for the best feature film, best supporting actor (Radhika), best screenplay (James Albert), best music director (Alex Paul), best editor (Renjan Abraham) and best costume designer (S.B. Satheesh). Mohanlal got the award for his role in `Keerthi Chakra' and `Vadakunnathan,' while Navya Nair's performance in `Saira' won her the award. The best new talent award went to Roma for the film `Notebook,' while Malavika bagged the best child artiste award for the film `Karutha Pakshikal.' At the award function, eminent filmmaker K.S. Sethumadhavan will be honoured for his contribution to the film world
