Joint replacement centre inauguration today

VIJAYAWADA: A `joint replacement centre' with latest equipment and three operation theatres will be inaugurated at M.V.S. Accident Hospital in Suryaraopet on Sunday. A team of surgeons headed by senior orthopaedic surgeon M.J. Naidu will conduct knee replacement surgeries at the state-of-the-art centre.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Dr. Naidu said it was the first `joint replacement centre' in the coastal region of the State, which would provide treatment to people suffering from high-velocity trauma and multiple injuries.

Fast results

"We have full-fledged operation theatres and well-trained staff. Result-oriented equipment is another asset. We can conduct surgeries with minimum tissue damage, so the patients can move freely from the next day of the surgery," he said.
