An opportunity to polish football skills of youth

TIRUCHI: For the 40-odd boys participating in the football coaching camp at Boiler Plant Boys HSS on BHEL campus here, the sessions provide a good opportunity to polish their skills.

The enthusiasm shown by the youngsters to learn the nuances of the game has surprised even the coach and former State player, N. Jabarulla. "The aspirants are taught the basics, including ball control and heading. They are explained the rules of the game," he says.

The participants are provided nutritious diet, free of cost, in the morning and evening.

Along with Mr. Jabarulla, B. Senthilkumar also trains the youngsters.

"Due importance is given to improve their physical fitness and overall speed.

The boys should take part in tournaments regularly and that will do them a world of good," Mr. Jabarulla says.

Follow ups after the camps are very essential and Mr. Jabarulla says that steps are being taken in that direction. "We have planned to conduct short-term camps regularly before a longer one towards the end of the year," he says.
