HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Government has prepared a list of another 44 services for imposing service tax under the Central Sales Tax (CST), which however, is marked for being phased out in three years. States have been asked by the Empowered Committee on VAT to phase out CST from April 1, 2010, in the light of the introduction of VAT. The CST is already levied on 33 services. The fresh list of 44 services that attract CST shortly included corporate hospitals, private corporate educational institutions, health clubs, music clubs and gyms. The date from when the Government begins collecting CST on them will be indicated after further discussions.
