Isolated rain likely in T.N.

CHENNAI: The Depression over Eastcentral Bay and adjoining North Andaman sea moved Northeastwards and crossed Arakan coast today the 5th morning. The system has weakened and now lies as a well marked low pressure area over central Myanmar.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over Telangana, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema and Lakshadweep.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:

Punalur 5, Madurai and Haripad (Alapuzha dt) 4 each, Nalgonda, Alapuzha, Banavasi (Uttara Kannada dt) and Shiggaon (Haveri dt) 3 each, and Sivagangai 2.

Forecast (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and Telangana. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Karnataka.
