More DTC trips to Katra

NEW DELHI: Taking into consideration the heavy rush of passengers on the Delhi-Katra route to Vaishno Devi, the Delhi Transport Corporation is adding one more trip to its existing Volvo bus service from this coming Monday. For this, the DTC has decided to shift its Volvo buses plying on the Delhi-Udaipur route. The services of Volvo buses for Udaipur would be discontinued from Monday.

Two trips will be operated from Delhi and Katra every day. The buses will start from both ISBT Kashmere Gate as well as Katra Bus Stand at 7 p.m. and 10-30 p.m., respectively. The fare has been raised from Rs. 700 per passenger to Rs. 800.

Trader, aide shot at

Lucknow: A trader and his associate were shot and robbed of cash and jewellery worth Rs 20 lakhs, police sources said on Saturday. The incident took place on Friday night at the IT College Crossing and both the injured were rushed to the medical college hospital here in a serious condition, police added.

ASI duped

Hoshiarpur: An Assistant Sub Inspector of Punjab Police has lodged an FIR against two `travel agents' for duping him of Rs 3.55 lakh by promising to send his son abroad, police sources said here on Saturday. Dasuya Police has booked fake travel agents Karnail Singh and his brother Jagat Singh, both of Uchhi Bassi, under section 420 of the IPC.

Tirath Ram, posted at Dasuya Police Station, alleged that the duo took Rs 3.55 lakh from him for sending his son Rajinder Singh to Muscat in March, 2007.
