DEHRA DUN: The employees of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) and Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) are up in arms against the Government decision to hand over sale of liquor by these corporations to private bidders. Describing the decision as a move that would promote the liquor mafia, Purshottam Puri, president of the GMVN Employees' Union, said that the corporations had been entrusted with liquor sales task by the first BJP Chief Minister, Nityanand Swami, in a bid to clip the wings of the liquor mafia in the year 2000.
