Smart City: grand reception for VS

KOCHI: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will be accorded a grand reception for making Smart City project a reality.

A meeting of the executive committee of the organising committee, which was held at the Corporation Council Hall on Saturday, decided to make the event a big one.

The reception will be organised by the Corporation and the district panchayat, and will have participation of organisations like merchants' unions, trade unions, residents' associations, panchayats and municipalities.

Other district-level organisations willing to participate should register their names with the organising committee office functioning from the Corporation council before May 8, said C.K. Manisankar, Deputy Mayor.

Mayor Mercy Williams, chairman of the committee; K.V. Manoj, standing committee chairman; E.S. Jose, chairman, Kerala Chamber of Commerce; P.K. Gopalakrishnan, general secretary, Ernakulam District Residents Association Apex Council; Josemon, representative of Hotel and Restaurants Association;and other organisations were present.
