Mayor inspects works

City Mayor Mallika Begum inspected the ongoing construction works of Singh Nagar water tank and asked the officials to supply drinking water through tankers to Vambay Colony, Prakash Nagar and surrounding areas. Reacting to complaints from the residents during her city tour, the Mayor asked the officials to observe the functioning of drinking water pipelines and supply water tankers to the areas that did not get adequate water.

Painting contest

Spoorthi Creative Art School on Saturday conducted a painting competition for its students. Artist Naga Malleswara Rao, who was chief guest, said it was a welcome trend that many children were showing interest to learn drawing and painting.

Symposium on women's health

Physician G. Samaram on Saturday said diabetic women should take extra care during pregnancy so that they could avoid several health problems. He was addressing a symposium on `Pregnant women and Diabetes' organised here.
