Sreemathy should go: BJP

Kochi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary A.N. Radhakrishnan has demanded the resignation of Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy in the wake of the baby deaths in the neonatology unit of the Sree Avittam Tirunal (SAT) Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. At a press conference here on Saturday, the BJP leader said Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan should persuade her to quit. He said the Health Minister made a secret visit to the hospital on April 16 after getting information about the deaths of newborn babies due to hospital acquired infection. — Special Correspondent

Bookmark exhibition

KOCHI: Kerala Book Marketing Society (Bookmark) will organise a book exhibition at the SRV School from Monday to Thursday, said a press release here on Saturday. Mayor Mercy Williams will inaugurate the exhibition at 5 p.m. Deputy Director of Education Usha Kiran and S. Gokulachandran, secretary, Bookmark Society, will be present. All types of notebooks would be available at attractive prices, said a press release on Saturday.
