A nightmarish experience

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: A drunken man, said to be around 35 years, climbed an electric pole and refused to get down for more than an hour even as hundreds of people gathered on NH-7 highway to witness the drama.

The incident occurred on Saturday night at a temple near BBMP office, Byatrayanapura, and the rescue effort lasted one-and-a-half hours.

"The public alerted us about a man climbing an electric pole. Apparently, when some people tried to stop him, he threatened to hurt them with a blade," said G.K. Jayarama, a fire brigade official. After a lot of effort,

fire brigade officials managed to bring him down.
