Insights into a blockbuster

Madhur Tankha

NEW DELHI: Film buffs can now get an insight into the making of "Spider-Man 3", the summer blockbuster of the year, through the radio.

Radio City 91.1FM has tied up with Sony Pictures Entertainment for an all-exclusive radio partnership for the recently released film. The airwaves are abuzz with fun trivia for radio listeners, who not only have access to the original soundtrack but can also get up, close and personal with the friendly neighbourhood hero and his beloved Mary Jane through exclusive interviews of the lead pair -- Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst.

To make film lovers get a feel of the edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience, there are also behind-the-scene knick-knacks on the making of the film with exciting on-air contests allowing listeners to win movie tickets. The contest will continue till May 18.

All this builds up to the grand finale, the "Give in to your Dark Side" contest where die-hard Spiderman fans stand to win much more than just movie tickets. Up for grabs is a trip to New York for a guided tour of locations where "Spider-Man 3" was shot for a lucky family of three. To be part of the contest, radio listeners have to tune in to the "Radio City Breakfast Show" from May 21 to 26.

Speaking about the association, Radio City 91.1FM National Head Marketing Rana Barua says: "We are extremely excited to join hands with one of the most awaited films of the season. Through innovations in conceptualisation and packaging, we seamlessly integrate special listener features into our regular programming. These special features convey the value added benefits of our client's offerings to listeners."
