KARIMNAGAR: There was good response to the free mega medical camp organised jointly by the Andhra Pradesh Private Nursing and Hospitals Association (APNA) district unit and Rajaboina Venkataiah Memorial (RVM) Trust at Elabotharam village in Karimnagar mandal on Sunday. Superintendent of Police Y. Gangadhar formally inaugurated the medical camp and lauded the services of private doctors for providing medical assistance to villagers.
Medicines distributed
Some 500 villagers, including women and children, availed the medical services at the camp. The organisers distributed medicines worth Rs. 30,000 free of cost on the occasion. Besides, the organisers also donated an almirah for the anganwadi school in the village. APNA district president Shyam Sunder, APNA secretary and RVM founder chairman Yakaiah, IMA district president M.L.N. Reddy, secretary Vasantha Rao, AP Vaidya Vidhana Parishad Governing Council member E. Vijayender Reddy along with 30 doctors of the town participated in the medical camp and provided assistance to the villagers. APNA secretary Yakaiah said that they had adopted the village and would be providing medical assistance to the villagers free of cost by conducting medical camps at least once a month. He said that they would also conduct health awareness programmes in the village and would educate villagers about the importance of prevention of diseases.
