Accountant imprisoned

HASSAN: Village accountant of Doddakadanur in Holenarsipur taluk Ramachandra Gulagunjahalli was sentenced to six months imprisonment and fined Rs. 5,000.

Judicial Magistrate (First Class) of Holenarsipur M. Jagadiswar passed this order on Saturday. According to prosecution, the said accountant had shown a living landlord as dead and transferred the land to another person.

Kikkeri Gowda Son of Kale Gowda owned a 3.5-gunta land in survey number 54 in Doddakadanur village. The said accountant in 1998 showed Kikkeri Gowda as dead in the revenue records and transferred the said land in the name of another Kikkeri Gowda, son of Kikkeri Gowda. Following complaint by Kale Gowda's son of Kikkeri Gowda against the village accountant, Holenarsipur Rural Police filed a chargesheet.
