NEW DELHI: The Communist Party of India has criticised the National Knowledge Commission (NKC), constituted by the Prime Minister, for its "pro-American" recommendations. "The only member of the NKC who challenged the Government's American-influenced Commission was dropped," CPI general secretary A.B. Bardhan told reporters here on Sunday. He suggested reorganisation of the panel. On Friday, P.M. Bhargava was dropped as the NKC Vice-Chairperson after the Government decided to reconstitute the body and induct P. Balram of the Indian Academy of Sciences and Sujatha Ramadorai, associate professor in the School of Mathematics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, as members.
