GUNTUR: The District Rural Development Agency, Guntur, has allocated Rs 8.42 crores for implementation of Swarna Jayanti Grama Swarojgar Yojna scheme in the district. The scheme would be implemented in 35 mandals in the district.

Project director D. Gopinath said 70 per cent of the allotments, Rs.5.89 crores, was reserved for group loan subsidy.

Action plan

As part of the action plan to cover individual and group loans, 855 beneficiaries, including disabled persons, would be provided loans with a total outlay of Rs.4.21 crores.

Loan subsidy

In the group loan subsidy scheme for women, 105 village organisations in non-project mandals would be provided Rs 12.50 lakhs each, while each group would be provided Rs.50, 000 as revolving fund.

In accordance with the policies of the State Government, the DRDA would provide financial assistance to 305 Rythu Mithra groups formed by tenant farmers from impoverished families.

Priority

Priority would be given to farmers belonging to the SCs/STs. The loan amount could be utilised for acquiring agricultural tools like, power tillers, sprayers, pump sets and turmeric boilers, he said.

The DRDA had identified 1,525 beneficiaries and 305 groups for extending financial assistance to the tune of Rs.7.62 crores.

The DRDA had also planned to construct mandal resource centres in 16 mandals.
