KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress(M) leader and the former Revenue Minister K.M. Mani has denied the charges levelled against him and his close relatives by CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan regarding encroachments and illegal constructions in Munnar. At a press conference, Mr. Mani said neither his son-in-law nor his relatives had illegal land in Munnar. The CPI(M) leader was trying to divert the attention from the real culprits by harping on the names of his relatives, Mr. Mani said. "Tomorrow, a UDF team under the leadership of P.P. Thankachan will visit Munnar. The allegations against UDF leaders have been raised to create a smokescreen over the real issues involved," he said.
