BELLARY: Mohammed Ghouse (13), a school dropout who has been working in a garment unit in the city for the past few years, is now going to an evening school. But little did he know that he would be making a trip abroad. He is one among the three selected from the State to participate in a cultural exchange programme for children to be held in Luxumberg in Germany from May 8 to 15. Hailing from a poor family, Mohammed, who studied up to sixth standard, discontinued his studies and joined a garment unit to support his family's income. His father Mastanvali is a rickshaw-puller and his mother is working as a domestic help. "Sneha", a non-governmental organisation working against child labour, got him admitted in an evening school run by it at Ballarappa Colony in the city. Mohammed is expected to share his experience with children from other countries, according to a press release issued by Sneha.
