Congress to release roadmap for 2009 polls

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Coinciding with completion of three years in power in the State, the Congress has decided to come out with a broad framework on how to face the 2009 Assembly elections, as it observes `Rededication Day' on May 14.

About 20,000 elected representatives from MPTC members to MLAs and MPs would participate in the second State Pradesh Congress Committee plenary being organised on the day at the sprawling Lal Bahadur stadium. During the daylong session, the party would deliberate on the `impressive' strides it had made in the last three years in all sectors.

APCC president K. Keshava Rao convened at a high-level review meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, which was attended by Advisor to the Government (Political affairs), K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, Ministers Md. Ali Shabbir, Botsa Satyanarayana, M. Mukesh, Vanama Venkateswara Rao and others.

Addressing a press conference here, Dr. Keshava Rao said the `historic' session would pave for midcourse correction if any, in the going programmes and analyse the party's shortcomings so that remedial action could be framed.
