Cusat VC on panel list

KOCHI: Vice-Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) P.K. Abdul Azis has been included in the three-member panel for appointment as Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University. The executive council of the university had earlier recommended a panel of five names for appointment as Vice-Chancellor. The university court, the highest governing body, met on Sunday and short-listed the three-member panel. The panel would be forwarded to the President for final selection, according to reliable sources.

Labourer stabbed to death

KOCHI: A 50-year-old labourer, Alosius, was stabbed to death by another labourer, Ayub, at Fort Kochi on Sunday evening. Dispute over unloading of cargo from ship led to the dispute, said the police. A case has been registered.
