Case of murder registered

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Nelamangala police have registered a case of murder in connection with the death of the taluk panchayat member T.D. Krishnamurthi, who is said to have died in a road accident on Saturday.

The police said that they registered the case of murder following a complaint filed by Krishnamurthi's wife Jayalakshmi who has accused Srinivas of killing her husband at Gangondanahalli.

However, the police said that Krishnamurthi died in a road accident at Kangondanahalli following a tyre burst, and experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory had also confirmed this. The police said that they were awaiting the post-mortem report.

Dharna

Meanwhile, a group of people staged a dharna at Sondekoppa Circle in Nelamangala police limits on Sunday seeking the arrest of Srinivasa, whom they accused of murdering Krishnamurthi. For over an hour, the traffic was diverted following the roadblock staged by the group. MLA Anjanamurthy and the former MLA, H.M. Revanna, also took part in the dharna.
