BANGALORE: M. Shivakumar and Sudeep Kotegar, and Arvind K.P. and Manas Ranjandas emerged winners in the 125 cc and 250 cc categories, respectively, at the Castrol Power 1 Throttle Max bike challenge pre-qualifying round here on Saturday.

These four bike enthusiasts will now be heading for the finals in Indore in June. Twenty-three bikers tested their potential over three different courses which included an open straight stretch on a dirt track, a serpentine course and a zig zag section.

Asked about the purpose behind this event, Saugata Basuray, Marketing Manager for Castrol Power 1, said, "India is a land of passionate bikers, and this challenge provides a platform for them to prove their mettle. This event is an endeavour to bring the biking community together and give them a chance to showcase their talent."

On his victory, Mr. Arvind said, "The challenge was tough and exciting. The unique feature of this challenge is not only speed but also the biker's skill and control over the bike. This is the true test of a good rider."
