Rs. 1.92-cr works taken up in Perundurai

`They will be completed within stipulated time'

ERODE: In Perundurai area alone, development works worth Rs. 1.92 crore have been undertaken, said Collector T. Udhaychandran recently while reviewing the works.

The Collector said that the work on Perundurai-Makinamkombai road was being undertaken at Rs. 74 lakh. It would completed in time.

Similarly, under the 12th Finance Commission, the Sullipalayam-Maniampalayam road was being repaired at Rs. 4.8 lakh. The Perundurai weekly shandy would also be developed and initially a room and toilets would be constructed at Rs. 5.3 lakh.

Additional classrooms

Under the Education for All scheme, additional classrooms were constructed at the Perundurai Government Boys Higher Secondary School at Rs. 6.45 lakh.

With NABARD fund, additional classrooms were under construction at Rs. 20.2 lakh.

Similarly, the road from Chennivalasu Adi Dravidar colony to the engineering college would be developed at Rs. 3.5 lakh NABARD fund.

The Collector said all the works would be completed within the stipulated period. The works such as road development, construction of additional school buildings, water supply extension and laying of pipelines were being undertaken with the MLA and MP Constituency Development Fund and also funds from the respective panchayats.
