Ponnala `misleading' people on Polavaram

HYDERABAD: The State committee of Projects' Displaced Persons charged Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah with `misleading' people on the launch of Polavaram project works while interacting with presspersons here on Sunday.

In a statement, committee secretary B. Tulasidas said the project work should not be taken up without the Centre's approval. The Andhra Pradesh Government would be violating the guidelines of the Central Forest Act if it took up the work in a non-forest area. He appealed to the Minister not to violate the orders of the Supreme Court and Central Acts .
