BHOPAL: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Madhya Pradesh has completed the preliminary exercise for selection of the party candidate for the Shivpuri Assembly by-election being held to fill the seat vacated by Yashodhara Raje Scindia after she was elected as the Member of Parliament from Gwalior. The party's Central Election Committee, which is meeting on Tuesday, would now be considering a panel of four names that have been short-listed by the State party unit president Narandra Singh Tomar. Meanwhile, BJP insiders point out that the party could eventually spring a last-minute surprise while deciding the candidate for the Shivpuri by-election.
