Criteria for relief increased

NEW DELHI: A decision to increase the earning criteria for Jammu and Kashmir migrants from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month for making them eligible for relief was taken by the Delhi Cabinet on Monday.

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who chaired the meeting, said on the demand raised by the Association of Kashmir Migrants it had been decided to increase the eligibility criteria for relief from Rs. 5,000 to Rs.10,000 per month, which would enable more migrant families to be eligible for the relief.

CBSE challenges CIC order

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has approached the Delhi High Court challenging a Central Information Commission order directing it to provide question-wise marks obtained by a girl examinee in her Class X science and technology paper in 2005. Taking the petition on record, Justice B. D. Ahmed said he would take it up for hearing on July 20.

Aditi Gupta through her father Rakesh Gupta had in 2005 approached the CBSE under the Right to Information Act, asking for a copy of her answer-sheet of the science and technology paper, submitting that the marks awarded to her were not up to her expectation.

`Avoid Mohan Nagar route to Ghaziabad'

NEW DELHI: In view of the march from Meerut to Delhi to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the First War of Independence, motorists have been advised to avoid the Mohan Nagar route to Ghaziabad between 4 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In order to reach Ghaziabad, the Delhi traffic police have advised motorists to take Loni Road or National Highway-24.
