NEW DELHI: The Delhi Golf Club (DGC), represented by Gagan Verma and Amit Luthra, qualified for the second round of the World inter-club golf championship at the Nine Bridges Golf Club in Cheju Island, Korea. The duo of Verma and Luthra shot a two-under 70 in the four-ball medal play to finish amongst the top eight teams out of a total of 24 in fray. The two had started tentatively by going two-over after seven holes, but they birdied the last two holes to break even at the turn. A bogey on the 11th hole was another setback, but the pair saved a stroke on the 16th hole and then brilliantly eagled the par-5 18th. The DGC will take on Pine Valley Golf Club, United States, in the match-play event on Wednesday. Clubs from England, Australia, Scotland, South Africa, Japan and France were the others who made through.
