Puducherry : Chief Minister N Rangasamy has announced that the Puducherry branch of the Indian Red Cross would be sanctioned immediately a grant of Rs 10 lakh to enable it to go ahead with its various activities. The announcement came at celebration of the foundation of the World Red Cross Society at Mother Theresa Institute of Health Sciences (MTIHS) here on Tuesday. The Chief Minister distributed mementoes to health officials who trained young boys and girls in First Aid under a scheme of the Puducherry Red Cross Society at the function.
Progress in health care
He said that the Union Territory had been making good progress in providing medical services, and it was widely acknowledged that the medical care available here was far ahead of the other States.
