Exam postponed due to non-receipt of question papers

KARAIKAL: Postgraduate students in Arignar Anna Government Arts College for Men here were disappointed since they could not write their examinations on Monday as the question papers did not reach in time from Puducherry.

College authorities said the examinations were postponed and a new date would be announced.

On Monday, when the examinations did not begin even after one hour, the students gathered in front of the Principal's room and asked him about reason for the delay. The college authorities said they were waiting for question papers from Puducherry.

Immediately, the students brought the issue to the notice of A.M.H. Nazeem, DMK MLA of Karaikal and Leader of the Opposition in the Puducherry Assembly.

Mr. Nazeem came to the college and held talks with the principal and the students.

Meanwhile, the principal managed to get copies of question papers from Puducherry through fax and asked the students to write the examination.

But the students refused to take the examination, saying that they were not in a mood to write the examination.

The MLA and the Principal informed top officials in Puducherry of the incident.

Subsequently, the examinations stood postponed.
