Spring Field Rizvi HS in final

NEW DELHI: Spinners Mishab Hussain (four for 17) and Altamash Mullah (three for 32) helped Spring Field Rizvi HS, Mumbai defend its modest total and beat DAV School, Chandigarh, by 20 runs to cruise into the final of the Parle Champions Trophy under-17 inter-school cricket tournament at the Bharat Nagar ground here on Tuesday.

Electing to bat, defending champion Spring Field Rizvi HS made a disastrous start on a turning wicket and was all out for 167 in 43.3 overs. Mohammed Hussain top-scored with 26 runs as none of the Mumbai batsmen could settle down. DAV lost wicket at regular intervals and succumbed.

On Wednesday, the Mumbai school will take on five-time champion Salwan Public School, Delhi, in the final.

The scores: Spring Field Rizvi HS, Mumbai 167 in 43.3 overs (Mohammed Hussain 26) bt DAV School, Chandigarh 147 in 40.5 overs (Vikrant Bansal 28, Mishab Hussain four for 17, Altamash Mullah three for 32).
