Corrections and Clarifications

A sentence in "A trip he never expected" (Karnataka, May 7, 2007, page 5) was: "He is one among the three selected from the State to participate in a cultural exchange programme for children to be held in Luxumberg in Germany from May 8 to 15." As a reader points out, Luxembourg is not in Germany. It is a small landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France and Germany.

The first paragraph in "Southwest monsoon may set in early" (May 8, 2007) stated that the monsoons are anticipated to arrive a week earlier than usual in Karnataka. It should have been "The monsoon is anticipated to arrive ... ."

The expansion of AIATSL is Air India Air Transport Services Limited, a subsidiary of Air India Limited. The detail was in a photo caption in a report "Air India floats JV [with Singapore Airport Terminal Services Limited]" ("Business" page, May 3, 2007).

A sentence in a report "No cricket after retirement: Murali" ("Sport", May 6, 2007) was: "The world's highest wicket taker said he [Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan] has not yet decided about retirement ... ." The Sports Desk clarifies that Muttiah Muralitharan is the leading wicket-taker when both forms of cricket (Tests and ODIs) are taken into account.
