World Red Cross Day observed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: V. Surendran Pillai, MLA, has described the Red Cross Society as an impartial agency that offers speedy relief and assistance to the victims of flood and other natural calamities.

The MLA was speaking after inaugurating the World Red Cross Day celebrations organised by the district unit of the Indian Red Cross Society in the city on Tuesday.

District Collector N. Ayyappan, who is the president of the Thiruvananthapuram unit of the society, presided over the function.
