NEW DELHI: Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes on Tuesday said the Centre would set up a Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by Pranab Mukherjee to look into the demand by Andhra Pradesh on the labelling of beedi packets. Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister G. Vinod said Mr. Fernandes, Mr. Mukherjee and Health and Family Welfare Minister Anbumani Ramadoss constitute the GoM. Mr. Vinod said the Andhra Pradesh Government was hopeful that the GoM would take a positive view before June 1 when the official notification would come into effect. Santosh Reddy, leader of the Beedi Workers' Union of Nizamabad, accompanied the Minister.
