HYDERABAD: The Bathini family will administer their famous fish prasadam on the Mrugasira Karthikam day of June 8 at 9.10 p.m. at the Exhibition Grounds in Nampally. At a press conference here on Tuesday, Bathini Harinath Goud said that the programme would continue till 9.10 p.m. the next day. The prasadam is believed to provide relief from asthma and lakhs of people from various parts of the country and abroad visit the city for taking it. Mr. Goud said that all the Government departments have agreed to provide assistance as they have been doing for several years. The Fisheries Department has agreed to supply murrel fish in which the prasadam is kept and administered to the people. "We are expecting close to seven lakh persons this year and there will be enough prasadam for everyone," he said. He said three kinds of prasadam would be prepared - to be given with fish, with jaggery and extra dose divided into six tablets and two tablets to be taken after every 15 days with warm water. He said it is better if it is taken for four consecutive years given the growing pollution. Mr. Goud said only 22 members in the family know the formula. Mr. Goud also said the analysis reports done by the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and the Drug Control Administration had stated that the "medicine" samples contain no steroids.
