ANANTAPUR: The 93 BC Kulala Aikya Vedika on Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the BC Corporation office here demanding waiver of loans given to students, farmers, artisans and others of backward classes communities. State general secretary of the forum G. Nagaraju alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Government was planning to invoke Revenue Recovery Act against defaulters of the BC Corporation. As the district was ravaged by drought in successive years, the beneficiaries were not in a position to repay the loans. He urged the Government to waive their loans and also issue fresh ones. BC students should be given free education, including professional courses and post-graduation teacher training (TTC and B.Ed). The forum leader sought insurance cover for shepherds, stone-cutters, washermen and others engaged in traditional vocations.
