VIJAYAWADA: The Krishna district unit of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Tuesday criticised Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah for not inviting the Opposition MLAs to the review meeting on irrigation projects held here on Tuesday. TDP district president Ambati Brahmanayya and Nandigama MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, at a press conference, demanded that the State Government clearly announce the number of vents to be fixed to Pulichintala project. They alleged that the TDP MLAs had not been invited to the review meeting, as the Minister had no answers to certain questions on Pulichintala and Dummugudem projects. "It is unfair on the part of the Minister to state that a decision on vents would be taken after the experts submitted report. "The Chief Minister, on one hand, announced that there would be 24 vents. Contrary to his statement, the Irrigation Minister is maintaining that a decision is yet to be taken. Who are they trying to deceive?" Mr. Rao asked.
