5 injured as owner sets houses on fire

BHUBANESWAR: Five persons, including a three-year-old child, sustained serious burns when a house owner set their dwellings on fire in Angul town on Tuesday.

Manoj Tulsian, 40, the house owner, was annoyed with one of his tenants Chhabirani Sethi as he believed that he was responsible for a rift between him and his wife. Tulsian attacked him with a sharp weapon. However, the tenant managed to escape. Seeing Tulsian seething with anger, five persons, including three women, bolten themselves in two rooms. "Tulsian then sprinkled petrol through windows and set them ablaze," officer in-charge of the station S.K. Senapati said.
