VIJAYAWADA: The Nidadavole railway police arrested Vipparthi Bujji (44), an armed reserve police constable on the charge of snatching handbag from a woman in Kakinada-bound Gowtami express near Tadepalligudem railway station. Railway Superintendent of Police said in a press release here on Tuesday that Bujji had snatched the bag carrying Rs. 25,000 cash, a gold chain weighing 40 grams and a mobile phone - all estimated to cost about Rs. 75,000.
Body found
The Krishnalanka police on Tuesday fished out the body of a 40-year-old man from the Krishna near Kanakadurgamma vaaadhi. The victim was identified as Nukala Ramamohana Rao, a daily labourer from Vaddeswaram in Guntur district. The cause of death was yet to be known. The body was sent to the mortuary in Government General Hospital. A case was registered.
